Who runs this site
This is my personal portfolio. I run it on my own, and I am the person responsible for what it does with your information. This page explains what that is.
Analytics
I use Google Analytics 4 to see how the site is used. It records which pages are viewed and clicks on tracked links, such as links to my GitHub and LinkedIn profiles, my freelance marketplace profiles, live project sites, and the resume download.
When you send a message through the contact form, Google Analytics is told only which project type you selected and whether the submission worked. Your name, email address, company and message are never sent to Google Analytics.
Google Analytics sets the _ga and _ga_<container-id> cookies in your browser to tell visits apart.
Advertising
This site shows ads served by Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites.
Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
You can opt out of personalised advertising through Google's My Ad Center, and you can opt out of some third-party vendors' cookies for personalised advertising through aboutads.info.
Cookies and your choices
If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, you will see Google's consent message, which comes from a Google-certified consent management platform. Advertising and analytics storage stay off until you make a choice there, and you can change that choice later from the privacy-settings link the message provides.
Elsewhere, analytics and advertising cookies are on by default. You can turn off personalised ads through Google My Ad Center, linked above, and stop Google Analytics from recording your visits with Google's opt-out browser add-on.
The contact form
The contact form asks for your name, your email address, your company (optional), the type of project, and a description of it. Those details are delivered by email, through Resend, to my inbox.
A confirmation email is also sent to the address you entered.
Cloudflare Turnstile checks each submission to tell people from bots; your IP address is passed to Cloudflare as part of that check. To limit how often the form can be used, my server also keeps your IP address in memory, with no database, and allows up to 3 submissions from one IP address in any 10-minute window.
Browser storage
Apart from the analytics, advertising and consent cookies described above, the only thing this site itself stores is your light or dark theme choice, kept in your browser's local storage under the key theme so the site remembers it on your next visit. It is never sent anywhere.
